He dropped in a new 390 motor, got a new paint job, rebuilt the front end, redid the interior with new carpet and a reupholstered seat. Next came new exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. Daniel tells us that his dad had a truck just like this that he gave to him as his first truck, so he was looking for a truck to bring back that memory. Thanks, Daniel, for sending us the photos and telling us your story! Daniel Carden. | ||

Christian Kuhner - Black Forest, Germany - '47 Hudson Pick Up Truck - See below a few pics of my ride or wreck. ;-) The Story: My Dad bought the truck from a friend who settled out to South Africa. After 1-2 years, my dad sold the truck to a garage near our office. The guy wants to restore the truck. He began with the work to rebuild the truck, welding some parts, painted the frame, and then he stopped his work. He stocked all the parts into a container and stopped his project. The next 5 years the truck was stocked into the container! This summer (2006) I startet to buy the truck back. I installed a litttle garage in our office (www.kuhner-mietpark.de) for customizing the truck. I want to rebuild the truck and build a custom vintage truck, install a v8 engine with automatic transmission, lower the truck maybe with a suspension or air ride, maybe flamethrowers, a custom wood bed, a nice interoir ... I want to finish my project on the 8.12.2010 on my 30 birthday. At the moment Brian from problemchildkustoms.com has the job to create some sketches of my project! |

Gordon's '34 Ford Pick Up - Hi! This is my 1934 ford pickup. It is my first & only hot rod project. I've been talking about building a '34 pickup since high school. One day my daugther said, dad you've been talking about this my whole life. why don't just do it. So i did. I started by finding a '34 sedan frame, 600 mi. from home. while the frame was being built scrap pile parts were being scrounged up. I bought the first of 5 junk cabs in october of '97 and licensed the drivable pickup in october of '98. It has been an ongoing project that has been driven some 35,000 miles so far. the frame rails were boxed and braced. the front end in mustang II with stainless steel heidt control arms. the rear end is a chevy 10 bolt narrowed about 8 inches to allow for the 315R70x15 BFG tires. it runs with a 400 ci / 350 TH and it's painted viper yellow. the tiny li'l bucket seats are modified subaru seats. |

Brad's 30 Ford Model A Sedan Rat Rod - Howdy, my name is Brad and I am 19. I have embarked on a new hobby which has turned out rewarding. My father owns a hot rod shop, Carl's Custom Cars (972-617-9400) in Red Oak, Texas where we build anything from hot rods to custom trucks. I recently built a 1930 ford model a sedan rat rod. The entire car is hand built including the radiator, gas tank, dash, frame, front and rear suspension. the car has been chopped 5 inchs, channeled 5, and body sectioned 2. The car doesn't have air ride - it sits that low ( 1 1/2 inches to be exact ). I plan on building more but it will take some time to top this car. The front suspension is what I am truely proud about, it is a semieliptical front suspension with a cantelever shock set up. If you look closely you can see the shock mounted on the inside of the frame rails.Check out the first photo ... if you looked at the photos we posted of the April 2006 NSRA show, you may remember seeing this picture. Oh yeah, we thought this was a very cool ride and we're thrilled that Brad submitted his story and more photos for us to post! - Ed. |

This is his street rod which you will find winding down the highway in Essexville, Michigan. Dominic's race car is a tube chassis 1966 Nova with a 672 cu.in. and a Lenco. In less than 8.00 seconds you will see him on the return road at any Dragstrip in the county! Special thanks to Freddy Militello, Dominic's brother, for sending the photo! |
